Mr. Charles Richard Fike, age 92 of Jupiter, Florida passed away on May 14, 2017 with his family by his side.

Mr. Fike was born on May 16, 1924 in Akron, Ohio to the late Charles J. Fike and Anna Gordon Fike. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, F. Hazel Fike and sister, Naomi Fike.

He proudly served his country during World War II as a Pharmacist Mate First Class in the United States Navy. As a Corpsman attached to the Marine corps, he saw active duty on Guadalcanal and the Russell Islands in the South Pacific. Following the war, he entered the work force with the Ohio Steel Tube Company of Shelby, Ohio, retiring after 39 years as a group leader of millwrights.

He met his wife on a blind date and married her four months later! They had three daughters and were happily married for 60 years. His life was defined by his love of his Savior, Jesus Christ. Each morning he would rise two hours before work to read the Bible and pray. He never missed a church worship service and was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Shelby, Ohio and Beacon Baptist Church in Jupiter, Fl. After having been raised in an orphanage since the age of three his family meant everything to him and he passed on the value of family to his children and their spouses. He cherished spending time with them all and "poking at" his great-grandkids!

Survivors include his daughters; Virginia (Howard) Wynn of Tacloban City, Leyte, Philippines; Jane (Dan) Orr of Jamestown, Ohio; Luellen (Steve) Hatcher of Jupiter, FL; nine grandchildren and twenty-three great grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be held on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 from 5:00 pm until 6:00 pm with the funeral service to begin at 6:00 pm at Beacon Baptist Church, 11616 Indiantown Road, Jupiter, Florida, 33478.

Arrangements under the direction of Aycock-Riverside Funeral and Cremation Center, Jupiter, FL.
