Eugene "Gene" E. Honeyman

79, of Palm Beach Gardens passed away on September 14, 2016. Gene was born on October 21, 1936 in Aledo, Illinois and was raised in Ottawa, Illinois. Gene graduated from Ottawa High School and continued on to receive a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from the University of Michigan while on a full basketball scholarship. Gene was married to Sally Kreps Honeyman on April 28, 1984. Gene was a Financial Executive for many years with several brokerage firms in the area including E.F. Hutton, Paine-Weber and Merrill-Lynch, retiring in December 1999....

Gene graduated from Ottawa High School and continued on to receive a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from the University of Michigan while on a full basketball scholarship. Gene was married to Sally Kreps Honeyman on April 28, 1984. Gene was a Financial Executive for many years with several brokerage firms in the area including E.F. Gene was an avid tennis player and golfer before his heart surgery in October of 1999. He continued playing golf as he worked part-time for the Eastpointe Golf and Racquet Club until his retirement from there in January 2015.

Gene is survived by his spouse Sally; daughters Lisa (Baer Pettit), Lori, and Lanie (Tom Lover); grandchildren Ava, Leah, and Miles Pettit; Nolan, Johnny and Oliver Demer; Ellie and Jake Lover. He was preceded in death by his mother Agnes Vetter and father Horace Honeyman.

A memorial gathering will be held on October 21, 2016 from 5-7 PM at Sandpiper's Cove Restaurant and Bar @ Old Port Cove Marina, 116 Lakeshore Drive, North Palm Beach, Florida..

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Hospice of Palm Beach County, 5300 East Avenue, West Palm Beach, Florida 33407 or The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd 400 Seabrook Road, Tequesta, Florida 33469. The family of Gene Honeyman wishes to thank Home Care Assistance for their loving care within the home, the nurses and staff at Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center, and Dr. Israel Wacks and all of the physicians that provided immeasurable medical support and kindness throughout the years.
